$42,545 - $54,596Remote

About The Position

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is a global nonprofit research and education organization with over 48,000 members dedicated to shaping the future of the built environment. ULI Utah is the local district council serving approximately 450 members in Utah, delivering the Institute’s mission through education, networking, and community engagement. ULI Utah organizes around 30 programs annually, including three signature events, a Technical Assistance Panel (TAP), an engaged Leaders group with a mentorship program, a Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI), and UrbanPlan delivered in local high schools. This role provides essential marketing, events, and operational support to the Executive Director of ULI Utah within a small, fully remote team. It requires a hands-on approach to marketing and communications, event logistics coordination, and support for volunteer committees. The Associate will be a primary point of contact for members and partners, requiring a friendly, professional, and well-informed demeanor. While significant training is provided, making it a potential first full-time role, genuine initiative and a willingness to learn quickly are crucial. The position requires attendance at various events and programs, some of which occur in the evenings or on weekends, along with occasional regional travel.

  • Some experience with marketing and/or social media; this is the area of strongest need for the team.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to independently manage files, notes, and follow-up reminders.
  • Confident, professional communicator who can engage comfortably with senior industry leaders and members, and can give clear direction to volunteers.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and stay accountable in a fully remote, unmonitored environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation and professional oral and written communication.
  • Ability to attend early-morning and evening events and meetings, and to travel locally throughout the Salt Lake City region.

  • Familiarity with CRM/AMS or email marketing platforms.
  • Knowledge of or interest in the Utah real estate market.
