We’re looking for a Marketing Copywriter to join a talented, collaborative team within University Marketing and Communications. This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy. This is more than a writing role. It is about ideas, campaigns and storytelling that drive engagement, support enrollment and elevate the university’s voice. You will turn strategy into clear, compelling messaging across digital, social, web, video and print. Working alongside designers, marketers and campus partners, you will help shape how FGCU shows up across every touchpoint, bringing clarity to complex ideas and creating content that inspires action. Requirements

  • Six years of directly related professional experience, or A bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field, plus two years of full-time professional writing experience
  • Demonstrated professional, full-time writing experience
  • Strategic mindset paired with creativity and curiosity
  • Strong storytelling ability and a sharp editorial eye
  • Excellent writing, editing, grammar and proofreading skills
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven and able to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems creatively and maintain high standards of accuracy
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

  • Agency experience, three or more years preferred
  • Higher education marketing or communications experience
  • Experience writing across multiple platforms and formats

Responsibilities

  • Concept and write integrated marketing campaigns from idea through execution.
  • Develop clear, engaging copy across web, social, video, email and print.
  • Create content optimized for SEO and generative search (GEO).
  • Turn complex academic and research content into audience-focused messaging.
  • Partner with designers and strategists to bring campaigns to life.
  • Identify and tell stories that highlight FGCU’s impact and community connection.
  • Maintain a consistent, strong brand voice across all channels.
