About The Position

At Structure Tone Southwest, we are looking for a proposal aficionado to add to our talented marketing team. We strive for excellence in everything we do and are seeking a candidate who embodies this principle. The ideal candidate will possess internal quality control, an eye for design and layout, superior writing skills, a strategic mindset, and industry knowledge. This role involves actively learning about the company's portfolio and services, providing marketing support for key initiatives, coordinating the development of marketing materials, and applying knowledge of the company's service offerings. The position also supports capture planning and proposal development, including contributing to proposal content and leading certain levels of proposals, conducting research, and working with Creative Services for graphics and layout. Additionally, the role involves maintaining and leveraging marketing information, responding to requests for information, and creating/maintaining qualifications statements, project descriptions, and resumes. Progression to higher job classes is possible based on experience gained, applied knowledge of the industry and AEC sales/marketing techniques, increased ability to create content, and effective collaboration with BD and pursuit teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Communications, Design, Business or a related field or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in proposal and presentation planning and coordination, page layout, drafting tailored proposal content, graphics development, and editing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with emphasis on superior persuasive writing and presentation ability.
  • Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.); MS Office (namely PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coaching others in interviews/presentations preferred.
  • Knowledge of what topping out means and the difference between precast and tilt up.

Responsibilities

  • Actively learns about Structure Tone Southwest’s portfolio, services, and market needs through reading past proposals, training opportunities, discussions with peers, BD partners, etc.
  • Provides marketing support to key initiatives through creation of brochures, brown bag materials, etc. focused on technical capabilities and benefits.
  • May coordinate development of non-proposal support materials such as brochures, presentations, etc. working hand-in-hand with BD and communications teams to ensure consistency of message, and adherence to established quality and brand standards across all deliverables.
  • Applies knowledge of Structure Tone Southwest’s/SBU’s overall service offerings including strategic initiatives.
  • Maintains marketing plans in conjunction with BD representatives to promote additional marketing 360 efforts.
  • Supports and leads pursuit teams in implementation while taking initiative to learn and apply process/principles.
  • Contributes to proposal content and leads level of effort (LOE) 2 & 3 proposals and collateral pieces under the direction/supervision of others.
  • Supports action planning and progress tracking.
  • Conducts research to identify best Structure Tone Southwest qualifications (experience matrix, project descriptions, resumes, etc.) and competitor information.
  • Works with Creative Services (CS) to generate graphics and layout for marketing products using the team’s proven approach and tools.
  • Responds to requests for information and client research assistance.
  • Helps to create and maintain well-organized, accessible, up-to-date qualifications statements, project descriptions, and resumes that reflect firm strengths and client benefits. This work includes writing, researching, and editing.
  • Proposal “break down” and “unpacking”: resume and project description updates to Cosential; unique or new content shared broadly through AdobeCC or boilerplate library.
  • Develops proficiency creating proposals as well as other sales and marketing deliverables, working with close supervision or clearly defined processes.
  • Gains reputation for consistently-high customer service.
  • Spends time reviewing best practices and products and adopting ideas into his/her BD support and proposal efforts.
  • Seeks input, identifies development opportunities, and leverages resources.
  • Understands and supports compliance with Structure Tone Southwest’s capture planning.
