About The Position

An exciting opportunity is available to join Gewalt Hamilton Associates (GHA), an employee-owned, multi-faceted civil engineering and land surveying company that has built a reputation of civil engineering with a personal approach. We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our growing Administration team in Vernon Hills, IL. The Marketing Coordinator will report to the Marketing Manager and will help bring our people, projects, and brand to life across digital, print, and in-person experiences. Working collaboratively with the marketing team, you will create visual content, manage social media activity, support digital advertising campaigns, and coordinate marketing-related events and initiatives. This role is ideal for a visually creative and highly organized marketing professional who enjoys variety, takes pride in producing polished work, and can manage multiple projects from initial concept through completion. You will have opportunities to develop your skills across graphic design, social media, digital marketing, video, events, and professional services marketing while contributing to a growing employee-owned firm. This role is an non-exempt position. We offer a hybrid work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience creating and managing content for professional social media platforms.
  • Demonstrated graphic design ability; relevant work samples or a portfolio are encouraged.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Ability to write and edit clear, concise marketing content for social media, email, web, advertising, and promotional materials.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • One to three years of professional experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, digital marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant internships, freelance work, or a strong portfolio may be considered as equivalent experience.
  • Ability to create and adapt marketing materials for digital, print, social media, presentations, and events.
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling, analytics, and campaign management tools.
  • Ability to support organic and paid social media campaigns, including content development, audience targeting, performance monitoring, and reporting.
  • Ability to prepare and edit concise marketing copy for social media posts, advertisements, emails, event communications, presentations, and website content.
  • Ability to coordinate marketing-related events and initiatives, including schedules, materials, vendors, communications, and on-site support.
  • Ability to create effective content for multiple platforms, audiences, and formats.
  • Ability to review performance data and develop clear observations and practical recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate several projects with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to coordinate marketing-related events and initiatives, including schedules, communications, materials, vendors, and on-site support.
  • Strong attention to detail, including proofreading, quality control, and file management.
  • Ability to receive feedback, revise work thoughtfully, and collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical professionals and translate complex information into accessible communications.

Responsibilities

  • Edit, create and prepare marketing content various types of content including presentations, print, event, digital, and social media.
  • Monitor and manage all GHA social media platforms, including performance monitoring, reporting, content development, and audience targeting.
  • Coordinate marketing-events with internal and external personnel.
  • Collaborate with employees and technical teams to create marketing materials and communicate complex information.
