About The Position

The Marketing Coordinator III oversees marketing, promotion, and publicity functions for a college, division, or the University under minimal supervision. Creates and implements marketing strategies using advertising, media, direct mail, etc. Coordinates production of materials specified in marketing plans and calendars. Consults with product and/or program development. Works with department and campus partners to support the University by developing and executing content-driven marketing strategies that advance recruitment goals. Ensures messaging is consistent, audience-focused and aligned with the UA brand voice across all platforms. Applies knowledge of emerging content strategy trends to strengthen effectiveness of communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience.
  • Competence in writing, editing and proofreading copy.
  • Competence using macOS and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to take responsibility for projects, following through from conception to completion.

  • Ability to work as part of a team under pressure.
  • Ability to follow a production schedule and coordinate responsibilities for several tasks at a time.
  • Strong portfolio of publication and writing samples.
  • Advanced writing, editing and proofreading skills with demonstrated ability to produce effective long and short-form marketing content.
  • Strong understanding of content strategy across print, email, web and digital platforms.
  • Ability to adapt messaging for different audiences, channels and stages of the recruitment funnel.
  • Knowledge of editorial standards including AP style.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical abilities, persistence and resourcefulness in tracking down information, awareness of trends in style and usage, understanding of UA style and the ability to apply it in editing/proofing many different publications.
  • Experience writing for higher education recruitment, admissions or enrollment marketing.
  • Experience developing print and direct mail campaigns.
  • Experience writing for email and web platforms.
  • Experience contributing to or developing content strategies across multiple marketing channels.
  • Experience collaborating with designers and creative teams to develop integrated campaigns.
  • Experience with UA brand voice.
