About The Position

Mikisew Group is hiring a full time Marketing & Communications Specialist to join their team and play a key role in supporting the corporate development department and all company departments to foster effective communication strategies. The position is based out of the Enoch Capital Region. Travel to various sites and office locations may be required. The Marketing & Communications Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Corporate Development department and Mikisew Group’s diverse portfolio of companies. This position is responsible for executing integrated marketing strategies, managing corporate communications, and elevating brand reputation. The successful candidate will produce high-impact content, manage digital platforms, and coordinate key corporate and community events to support Mikisew Group’s strategic growth and commitment to its stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in communications, public relations, business administration or related roles
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling content for diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience as a business writer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of writing samples demonstrating business acumen and proficiency in conveying complex ideas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or related field is preferred.
  • Adobe Suite and InDesign, or similar experiences are an asset.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Indigenous culture and issues is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications plans aligned with Mikisew Group’s priorities, brand strategy, and business development objectives.
  • Serve as the gatekeeper for corporate brand identity, ensuring absolute consistency in voice, messaging, and professionalism across all internal and external communication materials.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and audience insights to inform strategy, improve market positioning, and elevate overall marketing effectiveness.
  • Draft, edit, and curate compelling, audience-specific content for multiple channels, including websites, newsletters, presentations, press materials, and corporate announcements.
  • Oversee and grow Mikisew Group’s digital presence by planning, scheduling, and optimizing social media content based on performance analytics and modern digital trends.
  • Leverage the Salesforce CRM system to track stakeholder engagement, manage client/prospect data, and support targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with internal leadership, business units, and external partners to develop marketing collateral, proposals, and impactful storytelling that drives growth.
  • Plan, promote, and execute key corporate milestones, events, and community initiatives, managing everything from invitation workflows and logistics to on-site branding and support.
  • Organize and maintain digital marketing assets, files, and project documentation to ensure streamlined accessibility and team-wide efficiency.
  • Perform other related duties and strategic projects as required to support the evolving objectives of a growing organization.
