In this role, you will play a vital role ensuring brand consistency and raising awareness of the impact of Child Advocates San Antonio in Bexar County through email marketing, social media, website, media spots, and other channels. Your eye for design and your solid digital marketing, graphic design, project management, and storytelling skills will be invaluable as the agency works toward its vision to be a leading positive influence in child welfare. This position is an exempt position and will require working hours outside of a typical work week. CASA will accommodate the selected candidate’s work schedule for any additional hours worked at after-hour events. Intent of the Position: The Marketing and Communications Manager supports the organization’s mission by developing and implementing strategic, multi-channel marketing and communications initiatives that increase community awareness, strengthen brand visibility, support volunteer recruitment efforts, and advance fundraising goals. In collaboration with the VP of Mission Advancement and Annual Giving Manager, this position helps shape organizational messaging and campaigns that effectively communicate CASA’s impact across a variety of audiences and platforms. This role leads the implementation and execution of digital marketing and media strategies, including social media, email marketing, website content, digital advertising, graphic design, public relations, editorials and media outreach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, public relations or related field or commensurate years of experience
  • Three to five years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, digital marketing, project management or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
  • Graphic design with two years of experience using Adobe Creative Cloud Design Programs required
  • One year of supervisory/managerial experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficiency with technology, publishing software (i.e. Adobe Creative Cloud), social media and video editing tools, email marketing system (Constant Contact), website management systems, graphic design tools (Canva)
  • Project management experience with a proven ability to meet deadlines and accomplish a variety of long- and short-term goals
  • Familiarity working with Google Analytics and tracking metrics
  • Familiarity with photography and video editing
  • Ability to collaborate with a team to meet a shared goal
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to lift materials weighing up to a team life of 50 pounds, walking and standing for extended periods, and bending to reach for materials.
  • Comply with National and Texas CASA standards and any applicable grant requirements.
  • Applicants must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
  • Applicants must pass a child abuse and neglect registry check and maintain abuse and neglect registry eligibility.
  • Possess a valid current and unexpired Class “C” Texas Driver’s license and maintain throughout employment.
  • Possess proof of current automobile insurance and maintain throughout employment.
  • Pre-employment drug screening required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, public relations, project management or related field or commensurate years of experience
  • Experience developing and implementing multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Experience managing organizational social media platforms, email marketing, website content, and digital communications strategies.
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics, audience engagement metrics, photography, and video content development preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and implements a multi-channel marketing editorial content calendar and anticipates annual marketing and campaign needs that support organizational priorities, community awareness, volunteer recruitment, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Develops, manages, and distributes targeted email marketing campaigns to segmented audiences.
  • Supervises the Community Resources and Outreach Specialist, including coordinating community outreach efforts, supporting outreach events, and overseeing related communications and engagement activities.
  • Plans, creates, manages and publishes engaging content across all organizational social media platforms, including collaborating with the Recruitment Team to develop content that supports volunteer recruitment and community engagement efforts.
  • Lead media relations and public relations efforts, cultivating relationships with journalists and securing positive coverage across print, broadcast, and digital outlets.
  • Collaborate with Annual Giving Manager to develop and execute fundraising and awareness campaigns including initiatives such as The Big Give and Giving Tuesday.
  • Maintain strict adherence to budget including paid advertising, marketing item purchases for agency across departments, and community outreach to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitors and responds to online reviews, social media comments, and messages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Updates and maintains the organization’s website and leads ongoing website enhancement and transition projects.
  • Designs and creates marketing and promotional materials for outdoor media, digital media, print media and event materials.
  • Leads production, layout and design of organizational publications, including annual report, newsletters, and other publications
  • Coordinate effectively with other employees/ departments to gather information for newsletters and other promotional materials.
  • Assists other departments in designing and producing materials such as brochures and flyers.
  • Supports the VP of Mission Advancement with writing, editing and other production needs.
  • Leads the development and execution of multi-media marketing and public awareness campaigns that support volunteer recruitment, fundraising, community education, organizational engagement goals and collaboration with the recruitment and programs teams. Manage projects from concept to completion, including establishing timelines, managing deliverables, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Coordinates with external vendors to manage the production and ordering of marketing collateral and materials.
  • Tracks, analyzes and reports the organization’s marketing metrics.
  • Coordination of marketing-related photography and videography with external vendors
  • Manages the Gallery of Hope photo and story project, including coordinating content collection, overseeing timelines and deliverables, and supporting the development of storytelling materials that highlight CASA’s mission and impact.
  • Identifies emerging trends and opportunities and recommends new platforms and strategies that best deliver key priorities and messages based on audiences.
  • Manages daily administrative and operational tasks to support the daily functions of the Mission Advancement department
  • Assists with special events and other organizational initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in advocate pre-service training within six months of hire and then in a minimum of 12 hours of ongoing education per year.
  • Other duties as assigned by your leadership.
