About The Position

Parsons is seeking a talented Marketing and Event Planner for Traffic Incident Management to join their team. This role will advance stakeholder engagement through marketing and planned events, supporting statewide Traffic Incident Management (TIM) initiatives. The planner will lead the planning and delivery of key stakeholder events and communications, including retreats, conferences, executive briefing breakfasts, committee meetings, and related outreach activities. Responsibilities include coordinating events, developing marketing and outreach materials, managing sponsorships and registrations, and enhancing engagement through web, newsletter, and social media content.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven track record of building and sustaining engagement and event attendance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized individual with attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver major TIM-related events, including conferences, executive events for transportation/public safety leaders, strategic planning retreats, and/or monthly and quarterly board and TIM meetings.
  • Coordinate full event logistics: venue selection and reservations, agendas, speaker coordination, attendee communications, registrations, and on-site facilitation.
  • Document event attendance and discussions; prepare and distribute summary notes and action items.
  • Coordinate with event sponsors and vendors from planning to execution.
  • Coordinate with venue on meeting rooms, food, etc. (to include venue contract review to include food, A/V, etc.).
  • Support communications for distribution of periodic newsletters, ensuring posting and archiving on program websites.
  • Draft and coordinate social media content for approved platforms, ensuring all content receives required approvals prior to posting.
  • Coordinate with team and stakeholders to advance internal and external communication strategies, including outreach to public safety, transportation, and other TIM partners.
  • Develop and support outreach materials (e.g., flyers, digital content, presentations) for TIM initiatives, training, conferences, and stakeholder engagement activities.
