About The Position

Global Impact Collective is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to support marketing, communications, campaigns, and events across their client work and GIC initiatives. This is a hands-on role for someone who is a strong writer and editor, highly organized, and excited to help turn ideas into communications that people want to read and act upon. The role involves working with senior consultants and client teams to develop newsletters and other content, support client internal communications and engagement campaigns, coordinate communications calendars, and help keep events and related projects moving. Additionally, the manager will support GIC marketing and communications initiatives, including managing the website, coordinating the editorial calendar, writing and editing blog posts, managing social media presence, overseeing the brand, developing sales materials, and coordinating event communications. The position offers the opportunity to contribute both creatively and operationally, helping shape communication strategies and managing the execution details. The role is a full-time contract position with the potential for conversion to a full-time employee, and it is remote, with a preference for Seattle, WA.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, content development, events, project coordination, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to transform complex material into concise, engaging communications.
  • Campaign-minded approach, understanding how individual communications contribute to broader goals.
  • Highly organized, with experience managing editorial calendars, deadlines, reviews, stakeholders, and multiple workstreams.
  • Strong project management skills, including taking ownership, anticipating next steps, and following up.
  • Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for accuracy in content and process.
  • Audience-focused, considering audience needs, interests, and desired actions.
  • Technology fluent, comfortable with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Outlook) and newsletters.
  • Willingness to learn and experiment with AI tools.
  • Genuine interest in food systems, sustainability, social impact, and/or purpose-driven organizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with email marketing, social media scheduling, and/or website platforms (Framer).
  • Prior sector experience in food systems, sustainability, or social impact.
  • Exposure to human-centered design, design thinking, strategy, or facilitation work.
  • Familiarity with budgets, contracts, or invoicing processes.
  • Exposure to basic marketing analytics or reporting (e.g., LinkedIn Analytics, Google Analytics, email performance metrics).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and edit content: Draft, edit, and proofread newsletters, emails, announcements, presentations, web content, and other communications, turning input from multiple contributors into clear, engaging content.
  • Plan and execute communications campaigns: Develop and manage campaigns and communications calendars, including messaging, timing, and audience targeting, to build awareness, participation, and engagement.
  • Create communications materials: Develop and refine PowerPoint presentations, email content, simple graphics, and other materials, working within established brands and templates.
  • Support events: Help plan and deliver virtual and in-person events, including coordinating speakers and stakeholders, managing timelines and deliverables, preparing materials, and supporting rehearsals and event logistics.
  • Support GIC marketing: Help manage the website (Framer) and social media presence (LinkedIn), write and edit blog posts, coordinate the editorial calendar, and support brand and sales materials.
  • Manage projects/workstreams: Maintain project plans, timelines, action items, and follow-ups across communications, campaigns, and events. Proactively identify what needs to happen next and follow up with contributors to keep work on schedule.
  • Support other communications and project needs as they arise due to the small team size.
