Marketing AI & Automation Manager

SecureSpace Management•Redondo Beach, CA
•$75,000 - $80,000

About The Position

The Marketing AI & Automation Manager analyzes and improves business processes across SecureSpace Self Storage by designing, implementing, and governing AI-enabled workflows and integrated systems. This is an individual-contributor role with no direct reports, working under general supervision. The manager independently selects technical approaches, establishes workflow controls, and resolves complex process and integration issues within approved platforms, policies, and budgets. The role advises marketing leadership and business owners on automation opportunities that can improve efficiency, data quality, and decision-making. It analyzes needs, defines requirements, compares alternatives, and recommends priorities based on business impact, cost, feasibility, and risk. The manager owns the design and delivery of cross-team workflows for content operations, reputation management, campaign tracking, reporting, and internal processes. Marketing leadership retains responsibility for strategy, budget approval, and final business-priority decisions, while the manager determines how approved objectives are achieved. The position designs and maintains systems and integrations across CRM, call-tracking, content, reporting, and project-management tools; establishes testing, monitoring, security, and human-review controls; and documents procedures and trains users. It also evaluates system performance, adoption, time savings, reliability, turnaround time, and costs, and recommends enhancements or retirement when systems do not provide sufficient value. Work must use company-approved tools and comply with company security and privacy policies and applicable laws. AI-generated content must be identified for human review before external use, and business owners retain approval of publishing, spending, customer responses, and other sensitive actions.

  • Hands-on proficiency with at least one workflow platform such as n8n, Make, or Zapier, including branching logic, schedules, retries, and error handling.
  • Experience using generative AI tools, model APIs, or AI agents in repeatable workflows, including structured outputs, quality checks, human review, and cost controls.
  • Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs and webhooks, including API-key and OAuth authentication, secure credential handling, JSON payloads, field mapping, rate limits, and debugging failed requests.
  • Working knowledge of a scripting language such as JavaScript or Python to build custom logic, transform data, and extend integrations beyond no-code tools.
  • Strong spreadsheet and data-validation skills, including the ability to reconcile metrics across systems and explain data-quality or reporting limitations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, including the ability to define ambiguous requirements, evaluate alternatives, and make sound technical and process decisions under general supervision.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document processes and train nontechnical users.
  • Ability to advise nontechnical stakeholders, recommend priorities based on business impact, exercise independent judgment within approved policies and budgets, and handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Ability to work occasionally outside normal business hours to resolve critical workflow failures; routine after-hours coverage is not expected.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Comply with company IT, information-security, and data-privacy policies and applicable privacy, consumer-review, and communications laws.

  • Design and implement integrations among CRM, call-tracking, content, reporting, and project-management systems, including field mappings, validation rules, location identifiers, campaign tags, and reconciliation controls.
  • Analyze data quality and measurement gaps affecting calls, inquiries, reservations, move-ins, and revenue reporting; recommend improvements and explain attribution limitations.
  • Own testing, rollout, monitoring, and continuous improvement of AI and automation systems within the role's scope; diagnose failures, determine recovery actions, and pause or roll back unsafe workflows under established incident procedures; escalate material security, compliance, budget, or policy issues.

  • Ensure automated customer communications comply with applicable consent, opt-out, and communication laws; identify AI-generated content for human review before publishing or other external use.
  • Plan deployment and maintenance with affected teams and determine technical sequence, testing approach, and recovery procedures within approved project objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging AI and automation capabilities and advise leadership on adoption based on comparative benefits, cost, reliability, and risk.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain documented escalation and manual-fallback procedures for issues arising outside business hours.
