About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Anatomic & Clinical Pathology Market Medical Director to lead a well-established pathology practice serving a regional healthcare network in South Texas. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a board-certified pathologist with strong expertise in general surgical pathology, frozen sections, and clinical pathology who is looking to play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care across a growing healthcare market. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, hospital leadership, and laboratory professionals while overseeing pathology services in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. This position is based within a large regional acute care medical center that offers a broad range of advanced specialty services, including trauma care, neuroscience, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, cardiovascular services, women's health, pediatric care, stroke care, and intensive care. The pathology practice supports a diverse surgical pathology case mix while collaborating closely with physicians across numerous specialties.

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
  • Minimum of three years of hospital-based pathology experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in General Surgical Pathology
  • Strong proficiency in Clinical pathology interpretations
  • Strong proficiency in Frozen section procedures
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams
  • Active Texas Medical License or eligibility to obtain one

  • Subspecialty fellowship training is preferred but not required
