About The Position

The Market Front End Cashier serves customers in the Pineland Farms market by providing friendly service, processing transactions, stocking market items, and helping keep the market clean, organized, and well-stocked. The role is part-time and hourly, with a listed pay range of $17.00–$21.00. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and available to work between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and/or weekends, including at least one weekend day. Previous retail or cashier experience is helpful but not required; training is available. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Retail Operations Director.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Strong customer service and phone etiquette.
• Basic knowledge of Pineland Farms and its departments.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to use common-sense understanding to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and deal with problems in standardized situations.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including regularly standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking or hearing, and tasting or smelling.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Availability to work between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., on weekdays and/or weekends, with at least one weekend day required.

• Previous retail or cashier experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Package produce and bulk snack inventory.
• Perform basic cleaning, including taking out trash, sweeping and mopping floors, and wiping down counters.
• Use knives, box cutters, and carts as needed.
• Greet customers and provide friendly service.
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
• Stock shelves and displays with fresh produce and market items.
• Keep the market clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Assist customers with questions and help create a welcoming experience at Pineland Farms.
