About The Position

The Market Carrier Engagement Manager serves as the senior functional leader for carrier engagement, with accountability for shaping strategy, directing complex market relationships, and leading a team responsible for onboarding, governance, and ongoing partnership management across insurance carriers, managing general agents, and intermediaries. In this role, you will define and execute the carrier engagement strategy in close partnership with the Compliance Operations leader, bringing a player-coach mindset that balances hands-on execution with team leadership and development. You will work cross-functionally with Production, Operations, Compliance, Finance and Technology stakeholders to ensure carrier relationships are aligned to CRC's growth priorities, operational standards, and long-term strategic objectives. This is a highly visible role where your expertise, judgment, and ability to build alignment across teams will directly support growth, operational excellence, and the strength of CRC's market partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in the insurance industry, including significant experience in wholesale brokerage, MGA, carrier relations, market engagement, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading, developing, and managing high-performing teams, setting direction, and driving accountability through others.
  • Deep expertise in insurance market structures, carrier partnership models, and onboarding, governance, and compliance requirements across multiple relationship types.
  • Proven ability to lead complex initiatives, interpret ambiguity, and develop innovative, practical solutions to non-standard business problems.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to educate, influence, and build alignment at senior leadership levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the carrier engagement function and set direction for relationship management, onboarding, governance, and service delivery across carrier and intermediary partnerships.
  • Develop and execute functional strategy aligned to business growth priorities, market expansion goals, and operational excellence standards.
  • Serve as the senior point of escalation for complex carrier matters, balancing business needs, contractual obligations, compliance requirements, and relationship considerations.
  • Provide expert consultation to production, brokerage, and senior leadership on carrier engagement strategy, market structure, and partnership decisions.
  • Lead, develop, and coach the market engagement team, establishing clear priorities, performance expectations, and capability-building plans to ensure high-quality execution and sustained functional effectiveness.
  • Oversee onboarding strategy for new insurance markets and determine requirements based on partnership structure, risk profile, and business need.
  • Direct execution of contract review, licensing verification, compliance documentation, and system enablement to support timely and controlled market activation.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align carrier capabilities, operational requirements, and business priorities, ensuring seamless integration of new and existing markets into production workflows.
  • Drive resolution of ambiguous, complex, and non-routine issues by assessing multiple solutions, recommending a path forward, and leading implementation.
  • Establish and maintain governance standards for carrier agreements, authorizations, documentation, and partnership structures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Monitor and report on key carrier engagement activities, risks, and performance indicators to support informed decision-making by senior leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and contractual obligations while identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and reduce risk.
  • Identify and lead process improvements that enhance carrier onboarding, engagement, and governance, driving greater efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Influence senior leaders through effective communication, recommendations, and change leadership to advance major initiatives and long-term functional effectiveness.
