About The Position

Glosten is seeking junior or entry-level marine electrical engineers to join our marine engineering group. Glosten is a naval architecture and marine engineering firm with over 60 years of experience, working in teams on exciting projects in a stimulating, fast-paced, and collegial environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical power system components: generators, switchboards, transformers, circuit breakers, motors.
  • Basic knowledge of three-phase power system calculations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD program.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Unrestricted access to work in the United States or eligibility for TN visas.
  • Some travel and fieldwork are required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, current passport, and/or TWIC card may be required for some project assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or experience with electrical power systems.
  • Coursework or experience with industrial control systems (for mechanical or marine engineering graduates).
  • Engineer-in-Training certification.

  • Design and implement advances in power electronics for electrical generation and distribution systems.
  • Adapt emerging technologies, such as autonomous vehicle technology, to future vessel concepts.
  • Collaborate with team members on exciting and challenging marine projects.
  • Engage in fieldwork and travel as required for project assignments.
  • Take on clients' problems as your own and cultivate long-term client relationships.
  • Identify and pursue internal and external professional growth opportunities.
