About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Marine Detailer to join our boat dealership team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the interior and exterior detailing of boats, ensuring they are clean, polished, and in excellent condition for our customers. This role requires knowledge of marine detailing techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in marine detailing is required.
  • Ability to work an average of 40-50 hours per week.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, nights, days, and holidays.
  • Ability to walk and stand for 8 to 10 hours at a time.
  • Ability to walk on tile, carpet, and up and down stairs.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs using proper safety procedures.
  • Ability to safely, responsibly, and competently operate vehicles and equipment related to the Detail Department when directed.
  • Ability to wear a full-face respirator.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude towards all customers.
  • Organizational and cleaning skills are required.
  • Must be team-oriented, self-motivated, and process-driven.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background/drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with boats – previous experience helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior and exterior detailing of boats.
  • Apply knowledge and experience in cutting, buffing, polishing, and detailing marine services.
  • Review work orders to determine the scope of the job and obtain approval for any deviations from the manager.
  • Complete Work Orders and Detail Check Sheets accurately.
  • Enter time and notes in Dockmaster and update the Master Schedule software.
  • Inspect parts, equipment, and boats for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards.
  • Scrub, scrape, or spray parts, equipment, or boats using various cleaning tools and solutions.
  • Mix cleaning solutions and compounds according to formulas.
  • Clean and polish new, used, and customer boats.
  • Perform bottom and exterior washing of boats as necessary.
  • Ensure all serviced boats are clean, covers are installed properly, and boats are ready for pickup.
  • Maintain and clean work areas daily.
  • Report low inventory or shortages of cleaning products.
  • Ensure all equipment is returned to its appropriate place after use.
  • Ensure all supplies, tools, and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the department head.
  • Report any fading gelcoat, cracks, holes, or other defects to the manager.
  • Attend department meetings as required.
  • Request boats in and out of the bay.
  • Follow all safety precautions and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
