Mapping Ops Senior Program Manager, Real-time Disruptions
About The Position
Waymo is seeking a Mapping Ops Senior Program Manager to translate complex, rapidly evolving mapping policy requirements into actionable technical mapping specifications. The role partners cross-functionally to assess the effects of map changes, safely and reliably manage real-time disruptions, and minimize routing impact. The position establishes decision-making frameworks, RACI matrices, and governance across stakeholder teams, while enabling global vendor operations through quality and policy-adherence metrics. It also provides executive communications, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to Product and Engineering leadership to guide the tooling roadmap for real-time disruption management. The role requires the ability to travel to India as needed, approximately once every two or three years.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of program management experience, focused on policy, regulatory, or complex operational initiatives within the technology sector.
- Demonstrated cross-functional stakeholder management experience, uniting diverse teams around a shared vision and driving executive consensus.
- Deep technical acumen across complex, multi-model systems, with the ability to bridge technical requirements and operational realities.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, including the ability to evaluate policy nuances to prevent fleet-wide operational disruptions.
- A bias for action and a track record of end-to-end accountability during critical investigations, moving from diagnosis to execution under pressure.
- Ability to travel to India as needed, approximately once every two or three years.

- Direct experience with road rules, regulatory frameworks, or geospatial mapping policies.
- Fluency with AI tools for data analytics and workflow optimization.
- Master's degree in a business or technical field.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex, rapidly evolving mapping policy requirements into clear, actionable, detailed technical mapping specifications.
- Partner cross-functionally to evaluate the holistic impact of map changes, ensuring real-time disruptions are safely and reliably managed while minimizing routing impact.
- Establish a decision-making framework and RACI matrix to align stakeholders on policies, ownership, and governance.
- Establish performance metrics to measure quality and policy adherence across global vendor operations.
- Deliver executive communications, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to Product and Engineering leadership to guide the tooling roadmap for real-time disruption management.
