About The Position

We have developed a ground-breaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of the most common heart rhythm disorder, atrial fibrillation – which can cause stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications. Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. To achieve this, we have developed The Globe® Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story. We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients. As a member of the Product Management team, reporting to the Product Manager - Electroanatomic Mapping, you will get hands-on experience in the development and commercialization of an innovative and complex medical device. You will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, including Algorithm Development, Software Development, Clinical Engineering, Biomedical Research, Marketing and UX to design improvements to our Globe software and bring new mapping features to market. Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering or related quantitative fields
  • Demonstrated exposure to biomedical, healthcare, or medical device development via coursework or practical experience
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making through coursework or hands-on scientific projects
  • Enthusiastic about finding innovative solutions to unforeseen challenges
  • History of success working in a dynamic environment and cross-functional team setting
  • Ability to take complex ideas, dissect them into simple and understandable specifications and effectively present these concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly proactive and able to execute tasks with minimal instruction and guidance

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to medical physiology knowledge is an asset
  • Prior exposure to producing and reviewing biomedical algorithms is an asset
  • Tangible exposure to software coding is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Communicating algorithmic design guidance to the Biomedical Engineering and Software Development teams
  • Performing investigations into Globe software performance on previously collected clinical data to validate newly implemented product features and inform future design improvements
  • Identifying discrepancies between specified algorithmic requirements and observed behavior in the Globe software
  • Staying current on electrophysiology industry trends by researching the competitive landscape to guide feature development and identify opportunities for design improvements
  • Gathering user feedback to develop a deep understanding of customer needs and use cases
  • Participating in software demonstrations and hands-on user feedback sessions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparing technical documentation to support all the activities outlined above and capture the knowledge you’ve gained by summarizing results and recommendations
