About The Position

Dandy is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Trainer to join its rapidly growing startup. This role will be instrumental in launching a new manufacturing site in Provo, UT, and will also support training at the existing site in Lehi, UT. The Training team is responsible for onboarding and upskilling technicians across production lines. The trainer will facilitate and conduct on-the-job training for new and existing manufacturing technicians, ensuring they are prepared for a fast-paced production environment. Flexibility in shifts, including days, nights, or weekends, may be required. The position involves conducting and evaluating technical training programs, combining classroom-style instruction with hands-on training on the production floor. The trainer will deliver training curricula, ensure employees understand graduation and production ramp-up goals, and thrive in ambiguous situations, ready to contribute actively to new site launches.

Requirements

  • Ability to be in-office 5 days per week (Mon-Fri) at the new Provo site.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts as needed to support both Provo and Lehi manufacturing sites.
  • Ability to move quickly, pivot frequently, and work through the ambiguity of a new site launch.
  • Computer proficient with a high level of comfort using digital tools, specifically Google Workspace products and Slack.
  • 3+ years of technical experience in manufacturing or a related field, with a proven track record of supporting quality improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Very high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong self-motivation and the ability to drive one's own learning to meet the needs of the business.
  • Proven ability to mentor trainees and drive high-quality training outcomes in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, hyper-growth startup environment.

  • Natural curiosity and a history of learning new tools and workflows quickly.
  • Experience with CNC or additive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality training sessions through formal classroom settings and active, on-the-floor instruction.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining training materials and curricula for manufacturing production lines.
  • Ensure strict adherence to manufacturing standards during all training sessions.
  • Work alongside subject matter experts (SMEs) and training leadership to ensure adherence to training best practices.
  • Help track and analyze training metrics to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills regarding evolving manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Ensure clear, timely, and concise communication to trainees and stakeholders.
