Manufacturing Trainer

MUSH•West Valley City, UT

About The Position

The Manufacturing Trainer owns and leads the training program for MUSH’s ready-to-eat food manufacturing facility. The role ensures team members are trained, qualified, and confident from their first day on the floor through ongoing refreshers, while keeping the facility audit-ready for SMETA, BRC, regulatory, and customer requirements. The role partners with HR, Production, Quality, Food Safety, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Safety to ensure on-the-job, HR, safety, quality, and regulatory training is completed, documented, and effective. The position requires a hands-on, outspoken leader who can command a room, hold people accountable for completing training, and raise concerns when training is behind or ineffective.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in training, HR, safety, or quality in food, beverage, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment; food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and create training content, not just deliver existing material.

  • Ability to work around operating manufacturing equipment and in cold, wet, and varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to follow GMP, hygiene, and PPE requirements on the production floor.
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require to train all shifts.
  • Ability to work in a facility that handles food allergens, including milk, peanuts, and tree nuts.

Nice To Haves

  • Deliver and support on-the-job, HR, safety, quality, food safety, GMP, and allergen training.
  • Verify training effectiveness through assessments and competency sign-offs, and retrain where gaps are found.
  • Track training completion and escalate overdue training to plant leadership.
  • Partner with HR to run new-hire orientation and onboarding, including for temporary and agency workers.
  • Ensure each new hire completes required onboarding training before working on the production floor.
  • Coordinate OSHA, GMP, food safety, and other regulatory- and customer-required training.
  • Maintain audit-ready training records, the training matrix, and certification refreshers.
