About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician ensures the effective operation of production and facility assets. FLOFORM Countertops is a Canadian company with its head office in Winnipeg, MB and has 16 branches and 5 manufacturing facilities located in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Requirements

Post-Secondary education in a related field
2 years’ experience in a similar role
Basic computer skills for parts research
Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical and control principles
Has or can obtain fork lift operators certificate
Regular bending, twisting, and kneeling
Able to lift 100lbs assisted

Responsibilities

Responsible for safe and reliable function of all production equipment, tools, and vehicles
Implement total productive maintenance plan (TPM) to be carried out by staff throughout production
Advise on process changes and associated work instructions/SOP’s
Creation of jigs, fixtures, and individual work cells with a focus on efficiency and setup reduction
Promote and support ‘5S’ standard throughout the plant
Development and control of critical parts inventory
General maintenance for local buildings/property and liaison with external contractors.
Maintain proficiency of current product/material specifications
Sets up and calibrates production equipment and tools to ensure effective operation and quality
Supports production team as required, including operating equipment and routine housekeeping
Participate in team huddles
Other duties as assigned
