About The Position

As a Manufacturing Technician for the Soda Springs, ID location, you will be responsible for providing high-quality operation skills for the furnace tapping processes. This position also provides general maintenance services consistent with the skill and ability of the individual. This role is a full-time position working on 12-hour rotating shifts in temperatures that could reach 110 degrees Fahrenheit. An example of the shift times could be: 5:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. – 5:30 a.m. This role will be directly reporting to the shift supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to lift fifty pounds up to a height of three feet
  • Requires stooping, standing, and walking
  • Must possess good hand/eye coordination
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen test
  • Must be willing and able to work twelve hour rotating shifts
  • Understand and implement ESH Compliance requirements relevant to this position to ensure personal safety and the protection of the environment
  • Must be able to collaborate to drive results in the department

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of industrial, mechanical, electrical, or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment and make repairs to ensure proper and consistent plant operations associated with furnace tapping.
  • Adherence to all plant policies, procedures and outside regulations is required to ensure internal and external environmental, safety and health compliance.
  • Work as scheduled to operate equipment associated with the tapping processes of all furnaces.
  • Perform routine operation tasks during furnace delays.
  • Perform non-routine operation tasks during upset conditions.
  • Work as scheduled to assist maintenance work throughout the plant.
  • Assist with shutdown work when scheduled to do so.
  • Understand and implement ESH Compliance requirements relevant to this position to ensure personal safety and the protection of the environment.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervision.
  • Ability to apply information in furnace tapper training course and apply MOC process.
  • Completion of compliance training and gain a strong understanding of safety rules and Emergency Response Plan.
  • Apply computer skills such as, but not limited to, communicate via E Mail and to submit work requests in the plant maintenance system.
