About The Position

As a full-time Manufacturing Quoter & Estimator, you will serve as the liaison between Fastenal branches and manufacturing facilities, developing an understanding of manufacturing capabilities and processes. You will help branch stores serve customers by offering custom solutions. Fastenal Manufacturing operates nine custom machine shops specializing in hard-to-source, custom-machined or forged fasteners and specialty parts.

Requirements

• Have manufacturing, customer service, office, or sales work experience.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Have proficient computer skills.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service-oriented.
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
• Be able to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

• Pass the required drug screen where applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam.

Nice To Haves

• Possess or be working toward a degree in Business, Marketing, or related education.
• Have prior manufacturing or machining experience.

Responsibilities

• Order materials and schedule subcontracting processes.
• Quote and schedule production.
• Estimate production times and tooling costs using custom estimating software.
• Provide customer support to branch stores.
