About The Position

The role supports manufacturing and/or production operations, including assembly, machinery, processing and/or packaging. The Quality Assurance role establishes and is accountable for assigned quality activities within a business unit, including the quality management system, customer satisfaction, quality certifications, operations quality, quality-related aspects of supplier and contract manufacturer relationships, training, quality audits, and corrective and preventive actions. Works closely with business unit leadership to drive continuous quality improvement. Professional with significant knowledge within own discipline and knowledge of related disciplines, completing specialized and/or moderately complex tasks under moderate supervision. May lead employees or operate as an individual contributor, focused on task performance and delivery of specialized processes. Requires conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and developing knowledge of related job disciplines. Requires strong experience and knowledge of Nomex Fibers operations and materials to support quality initiatives. Has developed a detailed understanding of key business drivers through multiple years of experience. May guide or act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Has the ability to understand and influence. Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team. Works independently with minimal to moderate guidance. Analyzes potential solutions to problems related to quality (with or without vague/unstructured aspects) using experience, judgment and precedents. Work requires judgment and consideration of future implications beyond the immediate problem.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Willing and able to work a 12-hr rotating shift schedule
  • Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and short notice call-in as required
  • Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toe shoes, hardhat, Nomex® clothing, protective eyewear, face shields, arc protective clothing, rubber acid suits, Respirex hoods and SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus)
  • Willing and able to: lift 10 lbs. frequently, 25 lbs. regularly, 55 lbs. occasionally; climb stairs, ladders, and columns; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, utilize visual acuity, reach overhead, hear and respond to alarms and alerts
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with proprietary operating systems for manufacturing operations
  • Willing and able to learn new computer software systems, such as machine operating systems and touch screens interface.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Nomex Fibers operations and materials to support quality initiatives.
  • Developed a detailed understanding of key business drivers through multiple years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of chemical process operations experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing Technology or Industrial field
  • Any mechanical or manufacturing related certification or 3 years equivalent experience in troubleshooting and maintaining process equipment.
