About The Position

We are seeking an accomplished Manufacturing & Process Engineer with expertise in electronics assembly and testing. The role develops and optimizes assembly and test processes for electronic products, with a hands-on focus on electronics manufacturing, process engineering, and quality control. It includes leading process improvements and new product introductions, with an emphasis on efficiency, cost reduction, and product quality. Experience manufacturing power inverters and related test requirements is relevant; automotive or industrial product experience is a plus. The position also supports renewable energy products, including solar inverters and microinverters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electronics assembly and test process engineering.
  • Track record of establishing new processes in electronics manufacturing.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Expertise in quality-control methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, including surface mount technology (SMT), through-hole assembly, conformal coating, and other secondary processes.
  • Familiarity with in-circuit, functional, and environmental testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated use of PLM software for documenting new products, product changes, lifecycle changes, and product deviations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate across teams and present project progress and outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with solar inverters and microinverters.
  • Automotive or industrial product experience.
  • Experience manufacturing power inverters and related test requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain New Product Introduction (NPI) processes for supply chain and internal manufacturing, including formal project milestones.
  • Design, implement, and optimize electronics assembly and testing processes, collaborating with engineering to integrate new technologies and methodologies.
  • Evaluate, select, implement, maintain, and calibrate assembly and testing equipment.
  • Manage projects for process improvements and new product introductions; coordinate cross-functional teams and develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Improve process efficiency, reduce cycle time, increase productivity and quality, and apply Lean and Six Sigma practices and other best practices.
  • Work with the internal sourcing team to audit and select supply chain partners.
  • Coordinate NPI scheduling and supplier production readiness, including manufacturing and quality processes, test equipment, capacity constraints, and materials management.
  • Establish and maintain quality-control standards and procedures; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for production quality issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Document assembly and testing processes, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and product information and changes in PLM software.
  • Maintain reporting for product traceability, equipment yields, cycle time, and operating efficiency; generate manufacturing-friendly bills of materials for ERP systems, purchasing, work orders, and inventory transactions.
  • Generate process-performance reports, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians and foster continuous learning and development.
  • Communicate and present project progress and outcomes to cross-functional teams.
