Manufacturing Operations (Engineering) Intern – Summer 2027
About The Position
Plastipak is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Intern for Summer 2027. The internship offers hands-on experience across multiple areas of a manufacturing site, engagement with site leaders and associates, and ownership of a meaningful project. Interns also participate in professional development and networking activities with leaders and professionals in their field. The internship includes a detailed work plan with a defined project and day-to-day responsibilities, support from a mentor and buddy, more than 15 hours of formal professional development, networking with leaders, job shadowing, participation in leadership meetings, and social activities. The role is associated with Plastipak’s manufacturing location in Plant City, Florida; interns must reside within commuting distance during the internship period.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management, Industrial Technology, Operational Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Reside within a commutable distance of the Plant City, Florida manufacturing location during the internship period.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and not require employer sponsorship after graduation.
Responsibilities
- Own and complete a meaningful project as part of the manufacturing site operation.
- Carry out additional day-to-day responsibilities included in the detailed work plan.
- Engage with leaders and associates throughout the site.
- Participate in professional development and networking activities.
- Job shadow and participate in leadership meetings.
