About The Position

Leidos Defense Systems Sector is hiring a Manufacturing Material Requisitioner to plan, quote, and requisition material components for manufacturing. The role works closely with vendors and purchasing to ensure material purchases meet deadlines and requires working knowledge of bills of material for electronic and mechanical components. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.

The position supports production planning by evaluating material demand, tracking purchase and delivery status, communicating material status and issues to planning and program teams, and reporting material status and cost data at program meetings. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, and must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville–North Alabama area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree with at least 2 years of experience, or a high school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at a time.
• Demonstrated knowledge of production planning and quality control principles, including AS9100.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
• Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville–North Alabama area.
• U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Working knowledge of bills of material for electronic and mechanical components.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Active security clearance.
• Material procurement experience in a manufacturing environment; Department of Defense experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with vendors to obtain quotes, purchase order status, and delivery schedules.
• Evaluate material demand using Costpoint.
• Communicate material status to the PC Planning Team.
• Communicate material status and issues to Program Managers.
• Ensure quality notes are communicated to purchasing on all material requisitions.
• Report material status and cost data at program meetings.
