About The Position

This is a student worker position in the Manufacturing program. The assistant will support instructors and the program coordinator by maintaining equipment, providing inventory and organizational assistance, and performing basic CNC operations for educational activities. Eligibility requires enrollment in a minimum number of credit hours and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above (waived for first-semester students). Federal Work Study students will be hired utilizing those funds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
  • If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
  • Experience in material handling and basic manufacturing processes including operation of shop machines required.
  • Exhibit shop safety and basic machine operation required.
  • Must exhibit enthusiasm, professionalism and organizational skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing major is preferred.
  • CNC Operation is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment in the manufacturing lab.
  • Provide inventory and organizational assistance in material control.
  • Provide basic CNC operation of assigned parts to support educational activities.
