About The Position

Kairos Power is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Facilitator to independently coordinate material readiness, inventory control, and material movement for complex manufacturing work. The role supports manufacturing by maintaining accurate records and material traceability, and by resolving issues that could affect production. This senior individual contributor serves as a resource for material-control practices and ERP transactions, mentors other facilitators, and leads assigned process improvements. The role coordinates with Manufacturing Planning, Component Manufacturing, Quality Control, Engineering, and Supply Chain and Procurement across sites. It has no direct people-management responsibility. The position is based onsite at Kairos Power’s Alameda, California headquarters. The stated salary range is $92,706 to $109,054. The role supports safe, orderly material handling and storage, maintains retrievable material records, and contributes to quality reviews, audits, and corrective actions. Manufacturing Planning retains ownership of production schedules and job release.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing facilitation, materials management, warehousing, inventory control, or production support, including hands-on work in a machine shop, fabrication shop, or comparable industrial environment.
  • Experience independently resolving complex material, inventory, or workflow problems and coordinating across departments with limited day-to-day direction.
  • Experience using ERP systems for inventory and material transactions, discrepancy investigation, and reporting.
  • Experience maintaining material identification, traceability, and controlled records.
  • Experience training coworkers and implementing documented process improvements.
  • Working knowledge of inventory controls, cycle counting, material flow, kitting, storage, preservation, and safe handling of industrial materials and assemblies.
  • Sound judgment in assessing risk, setting priorities within approved plans, recognizing limits of authority, and escalating issues with practical recommendations.
  • Clear communication and collaborative problem-solving skills, including the ability to explain requirements, resolve routine disagreements, and follow through across team boundaries.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and analytical skills, including the ability to reconcile physical inventory with system data and distinguish isolated errors from process problems.
  • Ability to coach peers, share knowledge, and create repeatable practices that improve team independence.
  • Commitment to safety, accurate reporting, and early identification of concerns.
  • Authorization from the Department of Energy to access Part 810-controlled information is required to work in the facility; some foreign nationals may require an export control license for access.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant technical, manufacturing, inventory, or logistics training.
  • Experience with Infor CSI, Factory Track, and document-management systems.
  • Experience supporting ISO 9001, ASME Code, or other regulated manufacturing work.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute assigned material-support activities within approved production priorities; anticipate shortages, storage constraints, and handling needs, and communicate affected jobs, recovery options, and required decisions.
  • Review approved work orders, material lists, drawings, and inventory records with planners and shop supervisors to establish material needs; verify quantities, locations, kit completeness, documentation, and material status; provide readiness updates.
  • Coordinate and perform receiving, storage, kitting, staging, issuing, returns, and movement of raw materials, work in process, finished parts, fixtures, and tooling; maintain custody records and coordinate handoffs within and between manufacturing sites.
  • Verify material identity, quantity, condition, markings, and documentation against approved requirements; maintain lot, heat, and serial traceability and links to material test reports through preparation, cutting, movement, and returns, including remnants.
  • Identify damaged, unidentified, or potentially nonconforming material; prevent unintended use and coordinate containment and evaluation with QC. Perform inspection or acceptance activities only when qualified and authorized under approved procedures.
  • Perform and troubleshoot inventory and material transactions in Infor CSI and approved shop-floor tools; reconcile physical movements with system records and resolve transaction errors through approved correction and adjustment processes.
  • Execute cycle counts and physical inventories, investigate complex discrepancies, document evidence for corrections, identify recurring causes, implement approved improvements, and provide records for inventory reconciliation and audits.
  • Coordinate resolution of shortages and track incoming material, outside processing, and transfer status with Planning, Procurement, QC, and site contacts; resolve routine handoff issues within delegated authority and escalate unresolved risks with clear owners and next steps.
  • Support planners with job-submission information, material requirements, and authorized data entry using approved engineering information; production schedules and job release remain under Manufacturing Planning’s ownership.
  • Develop and update work instructions, checklists, and training aids with process owners.
  • Lead assigned improvements to material flow, inventory accuracy, traceability, and ERP use through approval, implementation, and verification of results.
  • Train and mentor less-experienced facilitators in material control, safe handling, and ERP procedures; demonstrate tasks, observe performance, provide feedback, and communicate training needs to the manager or supervisor.
  • Use inventory and workflow data to monitor assigned work, identify recurring constraints, report progress, share effective practices across sites, and help establish consistent execution as manufacturing demand grows.
  • Operate forklifts, lifting equipment, and other assigned material-handling equipment only within current training and authorization.
  • Maintain orderly storage and staging areas, protect materials from damage or contamination, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain retrievable material records in approved systems and support quality reviews, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Apply material-control requirements for assigned jobs and escalate unclear requirements to the responsible function.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
