About The Position

This role supports the production and manufacturing engineering team by fixing equipment issues. It also develops new ideas and solutions and drives safety improvements daily. Assist with layout planning, installation, and testing of automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment. Work with a sense of urgency in a fast paced, high output environment on a variety of short-term projects. Support and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities. Work with vendors/suppliers to procure and install tooling, fixtures, and/or equipment. Document the processes used in building products. Recommend product improvement and maintain standard drawings/specs. Support new product launches and development (PDP Process). Provide documentation for estimating the cost of materials and labor of manufactured product. Support daily production through solving, testing, and validation of product.

Requirements

Ability to network across multiple functions
Ability to show initiative, be a self-starter and be able to work with little to no supervision
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment
Ability to use computer programs including MS Office, MRP (JD Edwards preferred), SolidWorks, etc. – intermediate level
Ability to process engineering change orders (ECO’s) as they relate to bills of material and product routings
Ability to document processes in work instructions format
Knowledge on DFM (Design for Manufacturability) to provide input for new and existing products
Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects
Knowledge of product costing labor and material
High School diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training)
2-years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
