About The Position
The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will provide hands-on support to the Manufacturing Engineering team in a fast-paced production environment. This temporary, full-time position offers practical experience in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and production support. The intern will also receive training in robotic welding programming and will assist the Welding Engineer with related tasks and projects as needed.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; High School Diploma required.
- Strong interest in manufacturing processes and automation, including robotics and welding
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing concepts
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a team
- Team orientation, willingness to learn and take direction.
Responsibilities
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers with daily production support activities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and waste reduction
- Collect, analyze, and report on production and quality data
- Assist with development and documentation of standard work instructions and process flows
- Participate in time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing efforts
- Support troubleshooting of manufacturing and equipment-related issues
- Assist in implementation of engineering changes and process improvements
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and engineering documentation
- Participate in training related to robotic welding programming and operation
- Assist in programming, setup, and troubleshooting of robotic welding equipment under supervision
- Support the Welding Engineer with process improvements, weld quality initiatives, and documentation
- Observe and assist with weld trials, testing, and validation activities
