We're seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support our manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic production environment, contributing to process optimization and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Major(s): Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • School Year(s): Senior, or Recent Grad
  • GPA: Min 3.0
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality control methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Must be available to work in Salt Lake City, UT, from May 18, 2026 – Aug 7, 2026

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist manufacturing engineers in analyzing and improving production processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support the development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of fixtures, tools, and equipment to optimize assembly and test operations.
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct time studies and ergonomic assessments to improve workstation design and operator efficiency.
  • Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
