Schneider Electric is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for deploying Lean methods & concepts, leading 6 sigma project development, time-motion studies, sheet metal and bus fabrication machinery, paint and epoxy lines. This role involves specifying, acquiring, setting up, operating, and maintaining metal fabrication for MV switchgear production. The engineer will oversee sheet metal and bus fabrication using turret punching, laser cutting, press brake bending, and welding machinery. They will perform a variety of engineering work related to process design/layout, mechanical, manufacturing, tooling, and safety. The position also includes managing epoxy coating and paint processes, developing value stream maps, designing line architecture, performing NC programming, and maintenance. Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements such as LOTO, OSHA, EPA, and SE165 is crucial. The role requires exercising judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria based upon Schneider Production System principles. Collaboration with other engineers, designers, maintenance, supervisors, and hourly line associates is essential for solving issues, implementing solutions, and supporting Continuous/Safety improvement. The engineer will support launch projects, determine cost estimates, design concepts, engineering criteria, and conceptual process layouts. They will also support process tooling, fixture, and equipment design, purchase, and maintenance, and develop process, safety, ergonomic, and material handling improvement solutions. The role serves manufacturing operations as a key support person leading resolutions to problems, implementing improvements, and leading projects to completion. This includes selecting, designing, and maintaining appropriate tools and equipment for wiring and testing operations to maximize productivity and quality. Additionally, the engineer will develop reports in Business Intelligence (BI) and data analytics tools, such as Tableau and Power BI, to provide insights on the operations.
