About The Position

Our site in Reno, NV is seeking an entry-level Manufacturing Engineer to join our engineering team. This role will provide direct production support during a mid-shift/night-shift schedule, expected to be approximately 12:00 PM–8:30 PM, with focus on supporting manufacturing operations, resolving day-to-day process and equipment issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is a strong development opportunity for an early-career engineer who wants hands-on manufacturing exposure and the ability to grow into a broader role supporting larger capital projects, capacity expansion, and site growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferred; Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering
  • 1 – 3 years of engineering experience preferred.
  • Capable to learn standard procedures, apply engineering fundamentals, solve routine to moderately complex problems, and work with guidance while building independence.
  • Ability and willingness to work a mid-shift/night-shift schedule, approximately 12:00 PM–8:30 PM.
  • Strong hands-on problem-solving mindset with interest in manufacturing operations, production support, process improvement, and equipment reliability.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with operators, technicians, supervisors, engineers, and cross-functional partners.
  • Basic understanding of engineering analysis, data review, root cause evaluation, and structured problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ownership, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, co-op, undergraduate project, or early-career experience in a manufacturing, chemical processing, semiconductor, cleanroom, high-purity, or regulated production environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, 5S, waste reduction, or other continuous improvement methods.
  • Very strong usage of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of JMP/Minitab, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
  • Exposure to root cause tools such as 5 Why, fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis, or basic statistical process control.
  • Interest in developing project-management capability, including scope definition, timeline tracking, vendor coordination, installation support, and post-implementation verification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on production support during night-shift operations, including machine maintenance, process troubleshooting, quality attainment, and safety prioritization.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving throughput, increasing equipment uptime, improving ergonomics, and maintaining master data.
  • Partner with production supervisors, operators, maintenance, quality, and engineering team members to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and stabilize manufacturing processes.
  • Support process documentation through SOP and control plan updates.
  • Support equipment/process improvements from problem definition through implementation.
  • Assist with data collection activities to support process changes, new equipment, or new product introduction.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure all work is completed with appropriate consideration for EHS, quality, compliance, and operational risk.
