About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, equipment reliability, and cost effectiveness. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges, improve manufacturing performance, introduce new equipment and technology, and drive continuous improvement. This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining technical problem solving with hands-on work on the production floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations, process improvement, automation, and production troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, tooling, and production processes.
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and CNC machining.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems used for manufacturing, production planning, or inventory management.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Ability to effectively train and mentor machine technicians, operators, and other production personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or project management experience.
  • Robotics and manufacturing automation.
  • 3D printing/additive manufacturing.
  • Industry 4.0, connected manufacturing, or other advanced manufacturing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce waste.
  • Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, reliability, and consistency.
  • Develop and implement process improvements using data-driven problem-solving methods.
  • Establish and maintain process parameters, operating standards, and best practices.
  • Support new product introductions and manufacturing process changes.
  • Design, specify, and implement manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and automation solutions.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for production equipment and processes.
  • Work with Production and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment and process issues that affect safety, quality, or productivity.
  • Evaluate new manufacturing technologies and equipment to improve operational performance.
  • Support equipment installation, startup, validation, and ongoing optimization.
  • Assist with PLC programming, CNC applications, robotics, and other manufacturing technologies as applicable.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Identify and eliminate sources of waste, downtime, variation, and inefficiency.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional continuous improvement projects.
  • Use production data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and measure results.
  • Support initiatives focused on improving throughput, reducing scrap, and increasing equipment effectiveness.
  • Partner with Quality to ensure manufacturing processes consistently meet company and customer requirements.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to manufacturing and product quality issues.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce material, labor, energy, and operating costs without compromising safety or quality.
  • Support process capability and manufacturing consistency improvements.
  • Incorporate manufacturability, quality, and cost considerations into process and product decisions.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and equipment support applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Incorporate safety considerations into equipment, tooling, and process designs.
  • Identify manufacturing hazards and support implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
  • Promote safe work practices when developing or modifying production processes.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process specifications, and technical reports.
  • Document process changes, equipment requirements, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Train machine technicians and operators on equipment operation, process requirements, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Provide ongoing technical coaching and support to production personnel.
  • Help establish standardized manufacturing practices and ensure they are effectively communicated to employees.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and other teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Work with design and product engineering resources to improve manufacturability and develop cost-effective production solutions.
  • Support special manufacturing initiatives, equipment projects, and other cross-functional business priorities.
  • Perform additional engineering responsibilities and projects as needed to support operational and business goals.
