Manufacturing Engineer is accountable for improving and maintaining first pass yield for specified parts and/or processes. This is accomplished by driving continuous improvement initiatives, process development/modification, documentation of standards/best practices, and equipment onboarding/troubleshooting. Candidate shall also support the machine shop by providing technical support, process improvement, troubleshooting, and coordination of tooling, equipment, and workflow needs to improve efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery. Candidate shall also support cross functional initiatives with Production, Quality and Purchasing departments to meet company goals and product quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required (Mechanical/Manufacturing/CI education helpful, but not required)
  • 1-3 years of experience required, manufacturing preferred.
  • Candidate should like working in shop floor environment with people
  • Successful candidate must be able to communicate across a wide variety of disciplines and personalities.
  • Ideal candidate would be willing to rise to challenges, bounce back quickly from difficulties, enthusiastic, and enjoy fixing things.
  • All candidates must be US Citizens and be able to provide proof for verification of citizenship, as required by the Company’s US government contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting of quality issues throughout the production process: CNC machining, metal forming, inspection, inspection and measurement equipment
  • Use continuous improvement and lean techniques to increase production efficiency, eliminate waste, and drive cost savings opportunities.
  • Support production staff with specification/technical knowledge, inspection techniques, CNC Machining consumables management and day-to-day trouble shooting efforts.
  • Documentation and standardization of processes via work instructions and operating instructions to increase efficiency, facilitate cross-training and enable proper equipment usage.
  • Equipment and tooling on-boarding into production process to support new product, process efficiency, ergonomics or safety. Basic troubleshooting, light-level repair and/or export of CNC Machines, inspection equipment and tools
  • Effective communication with production employees, management staff and cross-functional team to ensure the alignment of efforts to meet company goals.
  • Conduct classes and trainings to support continuous improvements efforts and product quality i.e. Visual Inspection and Back-to-Basics courses.
  • Manage operator qualifications to ensure production staff is qualified to perform given tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented team environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, translate engineering drawings and customer specifications to drive compliance.
  • Excellent team player with a great attitude.
