About The Position
The Apple EMEIA Product Operations team has developed a 23-month graduate programme designed to give participants exposure to key functions of Product Operations, including Manufacturing, Test and Quality Engineering, Software Development, New Product Introduction, and Operations. The programme offers an opportunity to develop and hone engineering and personal skills in a fast-paced technology environment. Participants will initially train at the manufacturing centre of excellence in Cork, Ireland, with support from on-the-job training, mentoring, and formal training. Following this, participants will work on different Apple products, engineering projects, and processes across EMEIA Product Operations, and engage with global Apple engineering teams. This programme targets high-performing technical graduates and leverages the extensive manufacturing, development, and operations knowledge of the EMEIA Product Operations team to develop new engineering talent for Apple. The position provides manufacturing engineering support to Product Operations in Cork and at EMEIA Distribution Centre locations, focusing on achieving World Class Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, Customer Service, and cost standards through continuous process improvement activities.
Requirements
- B.Eng (Hons) / M.Eng in Mechanical/Industrial/Mechatronics/Biomedical Engineering or equivalent, completed in 2026 or later.
- A minimum of a 2.1 (Hons) degree is required.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing principles including 5S, WCM, Standard Work, and TPM.
- Consistently identifies, initiates, and drives continuous improvement throughout the business.
- Strong sense of urgency and customer orientation.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing operations automation.
- Computer-literate with experience of appropriate simulation and CAD packages.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Good analytical, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Six sigma quality training would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design, commissioning, and qualification of semi-automated and automated fixturing.
- Support New Product Introductions across several product lines.
- Drive cycle time improvement, line balancing, line design, yield improvement, and scrap reduction.
