Requirements

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to peers, stakeholders and leaders.
• BS IE, ME or applicable degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing engineering solutions for product development.
• Design and customize equipment for manufacturing processes.
• Build and refine manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Identify and manage suppliers.
• Optimize capacity and cost while maintaining high quality standards.
• Own the commercial relationship with manufacturing partners, including cost negotiations and risk management.
• Drive operational and cost efficiencies through process or design changes.
• Ensure successful product launches by balancing business and engineering needs.
• Execute and scale new and existing manufacturing processes, materials, technologies, finishes, and form factors.
• Lead the development and implementation of high precision mechanical manufacturing processes.
• Bring creativity to Apple's manufacturing approach to enable mass production.
• Contribute to the creation, evaluation, and implementation of end-to-end manufacturing solutions for hardware enclosures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to meet product quality, cost, yield, capacity, schedule, and environmental goals.
• Manage and guide development activities of process development, operations, and quality teams.
• Develop processes for building extraordinary products from existing and new ideas based on business needs.
• Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods.
• Lead a network of supplier factories worldwide, ensuring delivery to aggressive schedules.
• Serve as the primary operations interface to core product development and module engineering teams.
• Ensure successful product launches meeting cost, quality, schedule, availability, and customer experience goals.
• Design and develop robust applications and systems to support production from prototype to announcement.
• Drive the development of manufacturing processes across Apple’s worldwide supply base.
• Investigate and develop solutions to overcome ambitious technical tasks requiring non-standard manufacturing approaches.
• Lead the development of new plastic injection tooling projects and metal tooling processes.
• Act as the interface between product design groups and suppliers for tooling development.
