As a Manufacturing Design Engineer, you will be the second line of support for our Production team. You will support operations with the assembly, test, certification, and shipment of our products. You will interface with multiple departments (Quality, Engineering, Production, Sales), working together to tackle new challenges. Create and maintain assembly work instructions, drawings, and other production documentation. Refine build sequences related to system assembly, integration, and certification. Drive improvement projects to meet cycle time targets and product specifications. Initiate and drive Engineering Change Orders, structuring BOMs and creating test/assembly documentation as needed. Build, test and qualify mechanical, electrical, and optical sub-assemblies and products. Work with suppliers to resolve low yield and quality issues, in a timely manner. Support Purchasing in driving supplier quality improvements and cost reduction efforts. Interface with Design Engineering for the release of New Product into Manufacturing. Participate in design review and help to test prototype units. Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and perform updates of models or drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) tools. Drive continuous improvement of system hardware, tooling and technical documentation to minimize Cycle Time and Quality issues. Analyze manufacturing data via statistical process control to drive process, specification, and design improvements. Apply 8D methodology to resolve issues in Production and in the Field. Summarize and present data to stakeholders. Provide strong technical support to resolve Production escalations and help ensure on-time shipment.
