About The Position

Worthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE), a joint venture of Worthington Enterprises and Armstrong World Industries, is a worldwide leader in the production of suspended ceiling systems, specifically metal ceiling grids. Founded in 1992, WAVE operates under the Golden Rule philosophy, emphasizing strong customer, supplier, and shareholder relationships, which forms the basis of a robust employee-employer partnership. This role supports the production of custom aluminum extrusions for ceiling perimeter systems by visually inspecting, surface touching up, cleaning, bagging, and boxing products to prepare them for shipping within a teamwork cell environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds
Able to stand 8-10 hours per day at assigned work area
Background check required.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and experience of machinery in manufacturing environment or similar.
Experience with LEAN manufacturing, 6S, Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

Understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
Set up equipment and lay out fabrication project from blueprints/technical drawings.
Cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
Join material using adhesive and clamps.
Measure components and finished project/product using a variety of measuring devices to ensure correct dimensions within required tolerances.
Complete roll tooling changeovers using hand tools and maintain equipment, supplies and machinery safely.
Troubleshoot machinery, material, saw, measuring equipment and tooling and making adjustments needed for successful completion of project.
Visually inspect extrusions and check against blueprints/technical drawings and report defects.
Participate in continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing activities.
Be flexible/adaptable to assignment changes, jump in when help is needed and learn new things.
Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
Perform all work in a safe manner; use proper lock-out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.
