About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting production of custom aluminum extrusions used in ceiling perimeter systems by working in a teamwork cell to visually inspect, surface touch up, clean, bag and box to prepare pallets for shipping. The role involves understanding and following written and verbal work instructions, setting up equipment, and laying out fabrication projects from blueprints/technical drawings. Responsibilities include cutting materials to specified measurements, joining material using adhesive and clamps, and measuring components to ensure correct dimensions. The associate will also complete roll tooling changeovers, maintain equipment, troubleshoot machinery, and visually inspect extrusions for defects. Participation in continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing activities is expected, along with flexibility and adaptability to assignment changes. Maintaining a clean work area and performing all work safely, including proper lock-out procedures and wearing required PPE, are crucial. The role also involves active participation in communication and WAVE culture.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds
Able to stand 8-10 hours per day at assigned work area
Background check required

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and experience of machinery in manufacturing environment or similar.
Experience with LEAN manufacturing, 6S, Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

Support production of custom aluminum extrusions used in ceiling perimeter systems by working in a teamwork cell to visually inspect, surface touch up, clean, bag and box to prepare pallets for shipping.
Understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
Set up equipment and lay out fabrication project from blueprints/technical drawings.
Cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
Join material using adhesive and clamps.
Measure components and finished project/product using a variety of measuring devices to ensure correct dimensions within required tolerances.
Complete roll tooling changeovers using hand tools and maintain equipment, supplies and machinery safely.
Troubleshoot machinery, material, saw, measuring equipment and tooling and making adjustments needed for successful completion of project.
Visually inspect extrusions and check against blueprints/technical drawings and report defects.
Participate in continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing activities.
Be flexible/adaptable to assignment changes, jump in when help is needed and learn new things.
Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
Perform all work in a safe manner; use proper lock-out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.
