About The Position

Lead a production operating unit of the plant in all areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and environmental performance utilizing LEAN manufacturing principles, as well as robust continuous improvement, waste elimination, and problem solving processes. This position is responsible for directing all activities of the work group related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and environmental performance. It involves providing coaching and mentoring to realize opportunities for improvement, efficiency gains, and eliminate waste. The role also determines needs and priorities related to these areas, identifies and promotes methods for improvement, and facilitates the implementation of recommendations. Regular communication with all employees in the operating unit is essential, as is ensuring all employees are trained and practice TOS and LEAN manufacturing principles. The position administers company and departmental policies and procedures, addresses and resolves employee relations issues, and participates in the selection, training, and corrective action of employees within the operating unit. Proficiency in data collection and analysis to support decision making is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university/college with 6+ years of related experience OR 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • An attached resume is required
  • TOS and Lean Experience required
  • Microsoft Office Experience required

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of managerial, supervisory, or project lead experience in a truck Manufacturing plant

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all operating unit employees are trained and practice TOS and LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Administer company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Address and resolve employee relations issues as they arise.
  • Participate in the selection, training and corrective action of employees within the operating unit.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis to support decision making.
