Are you a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment? We're looking for a Manager, Manufacturing Operations to lead daily manufacturing operations, develop high-performing teams, and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. In this role, you'll oversee production team members and Team Leaders while partnering with cross-functional teams to improve processes, solve complex operational challenges, and deliver world-class manufacturing performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including supplier management and project implementation, with demonstrated technical acumen across supply chain functions such as manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, materials, quality, procurement, and fulfillment and/or be a GE Appliances Supply Chain Development Program, GearUp or Production Connection graduate.

Nice To Haves

  • BS/BA degree preferred, ideally in engineering, supply chain management or business.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred, with strong knowledge of Lean, DMAIC, workout and other change mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments showing results-driven methodology, analytical methods, schedule achievement, teamwork.
  • Prior Lean Manufacturing implementation experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage others effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of an assigned manufacturing area, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
  • Lead, coach, and develop hourly production team members and Team Leaders to achieve operational excellence.
  • Drive performance across key metrics including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Ensure production schedules are met by optimizing staffing, addressing absenteeism, and coordinating daily production plans.
  • Monitor production performance using visual management tools and drive timely issue resolution.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for production challenges, ensuring rapid problem-solving and corrective actions.
  • Promote and sustain Lean Manufacturing principles and standardized work practices.
  • Lead daily production meetings and communicate priorities across all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of manufacturing processes to support operational decisions.
  • Champion 5S and workplace organization to create a safe and efficient manufacturing environment
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, maintenance, and Lean teams to improve operational performance.
  • Facilitate and lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize Lean tools, including Yamazumi charts and workload balancing, to improve production flow.
  • Track improvement actions and ensure accountability through timely completion.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, coaching, performance management, and investigations.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, overtime, timekeeping, and payroll accuracy.
  • Communicate company updates, operational changes, and business priorities effectively across the team.
  • Recognize performance while coaching team members toward continuous growth and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality standards and manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor quality metrics and lead problem-solving efforts to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to drive improvements in First Pass Yield, scrap reduction, and Service Call Rate (SCR).
  • Reinforce quality expectations through standardized work and daily coaching.
  • Create and maintain a strong safety culture through visible leadership and daily engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, PPE requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead accident investigations within required timelines, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive completion of safety improvements and ergonomic action items to continuously improve workplace safety.
