About The Position

We have an opening for a Master Technician in our Production Facility in Goleta, California, that is involved in the packaging of IR detectors for high reliability space, military and commercial applications. You will train to become a skilled electro-mechanical technician in a variety of processes as assigned by management. You will be working with cryoprobe testing and will be familiar with cryogenics.

Requirements

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in manufacturing or operations.
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • At least one year of leadership experience and/or 3 years customer service.
  • Experience using general lab equipment like meters, power supplies, and small hand-held tools (tweezers, screw drivers, etc.).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a cryogenics environment.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a technical field, around ESD sensitive parts.
  • Experience with FOD and FOD reduction methods.
  • Experience in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of other entry-level Manufacturing/Operations employees.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
  • Review field support requirements and recommend tools and test equipment to engineering.
  • May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
  • Perform professional work regularly across multiple Manufacturing disciplines.
  • Monitor and provide training for new employees.
  • Must wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strictly follow all safety related processes, procedures and protocols.
  • Prepare daily status reports at the end of the shift.
  • Lead in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of technical/business support employees.
