About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing production operations, ensuring targets are met, and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. The Production Manager will lead and develop shift supervisors, collaborate with other departments like Maintenance and Continuous Improvement, and ensure adherence to safety and food safety regulations. The position involves coordinating job activities, building relationships, supporting business needs, and promoting a culture of belonging and inclusion. Compliance with company policies and ethical standards is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, food science, engineering, business management, or related area and 5 years' experience in progressive leadership roles in a manufacturing environment.
Option 2: 10 years' experience in manufacturing, food processing or dairy processing.

10 years' experience in Safe Quality Foods (SQF) or other Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) formats, Clean in Place/Clean Out of Place (CIP/COP) and other sanitation equipment, writing and maintaining standard operating procedures, or writing and maintaining Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsibilities

Work with the Production Scheduler to develop weekly production plans and ensure the appropriate materials are available to support production lines.
Lead, coach, and develop Shift Supervisors while monitoring plant performance to ensure daily operations meet production targets and business objectives.
Partner with the Maintenance team to establish work priorities and identify production-area work windows for maintenance activities.
Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement team to support associate-driven improvement initiatives focused on enhancing production performance.
Ensure all production areas, facility equipment, and personnel comply with Safety and Food Safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment, produce wholesome products, and ensure audit readiness.
Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives that meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability and measuring progress toward achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training team members, mentoring and coaching associates, assigning responsibilities and managing performance, recognizing achievements and contributions, and promoting a culture of belonging and inclusion in the workplace.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards by supporting the company’s mission, values, and standards of integrity, implementing related action plans, utilizing and promoting the Open Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on the application of policies and business practices.
