Manufacturing Aerospace Technician I or II

Woodward, Inc.•Spartanburg, SC

About The Position

Woodward is hiring a Manufacturing Aerospace Technician I or II to work in a team-based manufacturing environment at a new facility manufacturing hydraulic actuators for aircraft. The role involves executing technical manufacturing processes, maintaining safety and quality standards, and contributing to continuous improvement across shared work areas and production lines. Team members will work with automated manufacturing technologies and may develop their skills and careers through training and cross-learning. Level I technicians follow standardized work across product lines, maintain process variables and production flow, collaborate with cross-functional teams, address routine production issues, inspect work for quality, and participate in training and continuous improvement. Level II technicians execute and maintain manufacturing procedures across multiple processes and product lines, coordinate across functions, troubleshoot routine and moderately complex production issues, ensure quality and documentation compliance, and support training, mentoring, and process improvements. Level II candidates typically have aerospace fuel-system component assembly and testing experience, fabrication proficiency, and working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems; an A&P license is preferred. The work requires moderate physical activity, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds, with heavier lifting requirements on some product lines. Employees must be able to stand for the entire shift. Work may involve moderate risk or discomfort requiring protective clothing or gear, and may require passing near-vision and/or color-vision examinations. The position may become DOT safety-sensitive in the future, at which point a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug test will be required. The role involves information subject to ITAR and/or EAR, so applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain required authorizations.
