About The Position

This position is located in a high mix, low volume toolroom environment with a focus on precision grinding processes for manufacturing machine components and workholding products. The Machinist will be expected to set up and operate manual grinding machines such as OD/ID grinders, reciprocating surface grinder, rotary surface grinder, thread grinder, and center lap. Responsibilities include proper wheel selection and associated feeds and speeds, workpiece fixture setup, machine operation, and part inspection using appropriate measurement devices. Must be able to read part drawings, understand tolerances and finish specifications. Requirements

Ability to set up and operate manual grinding machines such as OD/ID grinders, reciprocating surface grinder, rotary surface grinder, thread grinder and center lap.
Knowledge of proper wheel selection and associated feeds and speeds.
Ability to perform workpiece fixture setup.
Ability to operate machines.
Proficiency in part inspection using appropriate measurement devices.
Ability to read part drawings.
Understanding of tolerances and finish specifications.
