About The Position

This position is located in a high mix, low volume toolroom environment with a focus on precision grinding processes for manufacturing machine components and workholding products. The Machinist will be expected to set up and operate manual grinding machines such as OD/ID grinders, reciprocating surface grinder, rotary surface grinder, thread grinder, and center lap. Responsibilities include proper wheel selection and associated feeds and speeds, workpiece fixture setup, machine operation, and part inspection using appropriate measurement devices. Must be able to read part drawings, understand tolerances, and finish specifications. This is a highly supportive environment with opportunities for growth into precision assembly of customer workholding products for gear generation.

Requirements

• Experience with manual grinding machines (OD/ID grinders, reciprocating surface grinder, rotary surface grinder, thread grinder, center lap).
• Ability to perform proper wheel selection and set associated feeds and speeds.
• Proficiency in workpiece fixture setup.
• Skilled in machine operation.
• Experience with part inspection using appropriate measurement devices.
• Ability to read part drawings.
• Understanding of tolerances and finish specifications.
