About The Position

We are hiring a Manual Mill & Lathe Machinist/Operator to join our growing Manufacturing department! Successful candidates must have long-term experience performing set-up and operation of Manual Mills and Lathes. Knowledge of conversational programming is beneficial. This is a full-time, permanent role. We are VTR Feeder Solutions; a leader in automated parts-feeding systems and Canada’s largest parts-feeding company. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience performing set-up and machining on Manual Mill and Lathe
  • Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time
  • Experience using measuring equipment
  • Proven high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Mechanically inclined and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-function team
  • Team-oriented and demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Physical stamina; ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Own toolbox and tools
  • CSA Approved Safety Shoes

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of conversational programming is beneficial
  • Completion of General Machinist 429A CoQ/CoA an asset

Responsibilities

  • Report to Manufacturing Team Lead
  • Responsible for set-up, programming, and operation of a Manual Mill & Lathe
  • Use of conversation programming
  • Accurately interpret blueprints and other technical drawings
  • Set parts and tools, and measure parts
  • Perform first op-inspections and quality checks on machined parts
  • General cleaning of workspace
  • Use of other saws, and other machinery as needed
  • Ensure the use of proper PPE
  • Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines, as well as VTR’s Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Other related duties as required
