About The Position
This role involves operating manual machinery to create prototype parts from designs or blueprints. The Manual Machinist will be responsible for planning the sequence of actions, selecting appropriate machines and tools, and ensuring the quality of manufactured components through precise measurements and adherence to specifications. The position also includes performing routine machine maintenance and ensuring safe operation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years + of experience in a manual machine shop or tool room department
- Experience with creating prototype parts from just a design or blueprint
- 5 years of experience with hands on manual machining.
- 5 year of experience with manual Lathes is a MUST
- Experience reading blueprints and work instructions in English
- Experience with measuring devices to ensure the quality of the manufactured components
Nice To Haves
- Experience Mills and Grinders is preferred
- Experience manufacturing tooling fixtures
Responsibilities
- Review drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output.
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
- Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
- Select appropriate machines (Lathes, Mill, grinder) and load material.
- Select tools and cutting conditions.
- Define and manufacture tooling fixture/JIG required to manufacture the parts.
- Check output to ensure consistency.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
- Operate the machines safely.
