About The Position

Dekker is seeking a Managing Principal to lead its Healthcare Studio. This leader will drive strategic growth, client relationships, design excellence, and strategic pursuits across the studio. They will lead teams within their area of expertise and strengthen studio resilience through effective delivery, talent development, and operational alignment. The role connects industry strategy to execution and supports Dekker’s sustained impact and shared success. The Managing Principal owns the healthcare industry’s growth strategy, financial performance, and long-term resilience, aligning market direction with firmwide goals and practice priorities. They contribute to firmwide strategic planning, provide leadership and performance oversight to Principals and senior studio leaders, build executive-level client and partner relationships, and align strategy with operational execution. They use performance indicators and market insights to guide decisions, develop future leaders through mentorship and succession planning, foster collaboration and accountability across studios, and communicate industry trends and strategic priorities throughout the firm.

Requirements

10+ years of progressive experience in design, including significant leadership experience in healthcare planning, design, and delivery.
Proven success leading healthcare practices, studios, business units, or market sectors, with responsibility for growth, profitability, and strategic direction.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business development strategies that produce sustained revenue growth and expanded market presence.
Established network of healthcare industry clients, partners, consultants, and stakeholders.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets, forecasting, profitability, utilization, and key performance metrics.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence clients, executive stakeholders, and internal teams.
Proven ability to mentor and develop leaders, build high-performing teams, and support succession planning initiatives.
Deep understanding of healthcare industry trends, regulatory requirements, funding mechanisms, and emerging opportunities.

Align healthcare industry strategy with operational execution to support strong project outcomes, sustainable growth, and consistent performance.
Use key performance indicators and market insights to guide decisions, measure industry health, and improve growth, performance, and client satisfaction.
Develop future industry leaders through mentorship, succession planning, and talent development.
Act as a firmwide leader and culture carrier, strengthening collaboration, accountability, and shared success across studios.
Communicate industry trends, strategic priorities, and measures of success across the firm.
